Joel is Treanor’s seasoned visualization manager and senior 3D artist with over two decades of experience in architecture. He’s known for his adaptability in various production and management roles, consistently delivering top-notch graphics and presentations, often within tight time and budget constraints.

Joel’s journey into design visualization began in 2000 when he founded his own company. He later joined Treanor as a consultant, and after nearly two decades, he’s an integral part of the firm. Joel merges creativity with cutting-edge technology to bring architectural visions to life. His passion is helping our designers become better storytellers through engaging renderings and animations, and he constantly pushes the boundaries of design and visualization for clients and colleagues.

Visualizations communicate design intent and help clients see the impact of design decisions; easing their minds when they’re unsure of size, scope, or overall experience. Some of Joel’s favorite projects include the La Veta PK-12 and Hudson Elementary Schools, NCAR Wyoming Supercomputing Center, and Jesse Unruh Federal Building.

A true Colorado native, you’ll often find Joel outdoors, hiking in the Rockies and exploring with his trusty mini-Aussie, Rikki. Beyond his love for nature, he’s a multi-talented individual with a passion for design, photography, and culinary adventures. He taught high-performance driving for a few years as a means to get more track and race time—he’s even worked as a grid marshal at a few Formula 1 races. He wants to travel the world by attending all the Formula 1 races in a single season.
