Healthcare Planner/Architect
Position summary
Our Health studio is looking for a licensed Healthcare Planner/Architect to join our Denver team. This individual will represent Treanor as a technical expert, leading the planning efforts toward the successful completion of complex healthcare facilities. They will provide programming, master planning, design, and medical planning as well as communicate with clients/user groups to understand project requirements.
Treanor is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. A candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, degree, relevant work experience, skills, and certifications. The anticipated base salary for candidates meeting the stated requirements is $105,000 – $115,000 and may vary by states we operate in.
Primary responsibilities
- Attend and lead internal and external design meetings to provide expert design and planning knowledge/solutions.
- Ability to convey expertise in all aspects of healthcare facility departmental layout and planning, including functional relationships of departments and trending changes
- Display and continue to develop a thorough understanding of program requirements, standards, and policies
- Develop and share planning concepts through excellent verbal, written and graphic communications, and architectural drawings
- Maintain advanced knowledge through continuing education of technical and regulatory requirements for healthcare facilities design and understanding of departmental organization and functionality including FGI and NFPA 101, as well as other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain advanced knowledge of healthcare delivery systems and how design impacts public/private space, staff and patient flow, support functions, etc.
- Prepare reports and bid documents, including drawings and technical specifications
- Meet the project design schedule and design construction budgets
- Maintain contact with the client, and keep the team appraised of design development as well as any decisions which may affect the design schedule, design budget or construction budget
- Monitor site activity for any potential unanticipated adverse effects, prepare site visit reports and develop responses to RFIs.
- Act as liaison between contractors, consultants and other team members to facilitate proactive, creative solutions
- Maintain project records
Position requirements
- An accredited degree in Architecture; licensed (preferred)
- 8-10 years of experience in healthcare design
- Healthcare design certification preferred (ACHA)
- Experience in the development of proposals
- The ability and desire to mentor young design professionals
- Proficient in Revit with a working knowledge of Sketch Up, AutoCAD and Construction Administration software (Newforma preferred)
- Must be able and willing to travel outside of local area to attend meetings at various sites
- High levels of activity and productivity
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to clearly convey information and ideas verbally and graphically
- The ability to quickly grasp new concepts
