Austin is as passionate about historical architecture as he is about Harry Potter. As a child, he wanted to be a wizard when he grew up, but he discovered architecture, and his professional story is well on its way to becoming a bestseller. Austin is an architectural designer dedicated to historic preservation.

His academic accomplishments are impressive: he presented “Eastman Kodak Pavilion” with a colleague at the 2020 Historic Preservation Symposium hosted by the Center for Heritage Conservation at College Station. He was also on teams that received Charles E. Peterson honorable mention (2022) and second place (2020), a student competition of measured drawings that honors Charles E. Peterson (1906-2004), a founder of the Historic American Buildings Survey (HABS) program that heightens awareness about historic buildings in the United States and to augment the HABS/HAER/HALS Collection of measured drawings at the Library of Congress.

He is a board member of Preservation Dallas Young Professionals (PDYP), regularly volunteers, and attends PDYP and Preservation Dallas events. Outside of work, he enjoys reading, working out, hanging out with friends, traveling, trying out new restaurants, and shooting film (analog photography).
