LawrenceChristy brings a passion for technical problem solving, organization, and execution to projects as part of the Higher Education studio. She approaches each project with a thoughtful design and sustainable mindset to provide living, learning, and research spaces.
While Christy has a keen attention to detail, her big-picture planning is where she shines. She is responsive and gives clients the confidence she will do what she says she will do, all while keeping their interests in mind. She brings her experience and lessons learned to maneuver through common project issues and challenges to find the right solution.
Christy’s interest in architecture started at a young age, and she particularly remembers a junior high tour of a brownstone renovation. Today, she knows that architecture fills her need to make the world a better and more sustainable place that uplifts the community.

What are a few projects you are proud to have worked on?
One of my favorite projects was renovating the Woods House at the University of Missouri. It was a tricky full building renovation to be completed in a short window, phased over two summers and occupied in between.
I was also the project architect for the Kansas City Proton Institute, a new building providing space for an oncology and urology clinic. It is the first facility to bring outpatient office-based proton therapy treatment in Kansas and Missouri.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Spend time with my family, play video and board games, listen to audiobooks, travel to new places, and work on the next home improvement project.
