What is the best part of your job?
Learning every day and solving complex problems with a team.
What are a few projects you are proud to have worked on?
As a PM early in my career, one of my first projects was a fast-track freestanding emergency building renovation for Banner Health. It posed challenges with accelerated schedule and conversion of an existing building, so the importance of collaboration and creativity was critical. Trust and reliability within the team made it easy to be successful. Master planning and implementing the new patient wing and MOB at the Southwest Memorial Hospital campus in Cortez, Colorado, was a collaboration of the county and hospital boards with the hospital leadership and design and construction team. Learning the vision of many key stakeholders proved an important challenge to overcome and beneficial to have the clarity and determination of the team when the entire town was supporting the new projects.
What is an interesting fact not many people know about you?
I have a few books I have written with my poetry and study of symbols.
What is your favorite building or landmark?
Getty Center in Los Angeles. My dad, sister, and I visited, and I appreciated the intentional progression of movement to and from the center, and the moments for contemplation in the building and gardens that used scent, color, and use of light and shadow to create a memorable experience that had visitors constantly exploring and learning.
