DenverGrowing up, Kenyon watched televised surgical procedures on PBS on Saturday afternoons, which he found fascinating, but his path through life would not lead directly to healthcare. He graduated from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado Boulder and worked as a freight dock supervisor in New England. Returning to Colorado, he decided architecture was calling his name and he received two master’s degrees in architecture and urban planning from CU Denver. When hired by Treanor, he returned to his childhood interest in healthcare and surgery by taking on his first healthcare project.
Kenyon’s specialty areas include perioperative services, sterile processing, medical imaging and catheterization procedure labs, and healthcare master facility/campus planning. His favorite part is working with clinicians and helping them achieve their vision of providing exceptional patient and family-centered care. The best projects, large or small, are successful because everyone involved works as a team: owners, clinicians, design team, vendors, and contractors.
His career highlights include working on projects such as the replacement Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center in Aurora, and the Children’s Hospital Colorado North Campus Expansion in Broomfield. While these are large and well-known, he also takes pride in smaller projects like single-room remodels that can have the same impact on clinicians and patients as a new hospital.
He enjoys living in Denver’s foothills and exploring the many hiking trails in the area with his dogs. He also likes to visit foreign countries and his relatives. He is also an avid Colorado Avalanche hockey fan and appreciates a good meal at home or a restaurant.
