What is the best part of your job?
As part of the Historic Preservation studio, I love looking at investigative openings done to understand existing conditions. It is a discovery process, and you have the “aha” moment to see very unconventional detailing sometimes.
What is your favorite building or landmark and why?
The Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth, Texas by Louis Kahn. To keep it simple, I experience all of Kahn’s poetic approach to architecture here. It reminds me that architecture is not just problem solving, or meeting requirements, but should also elevate human experience by pushing the limits of convention.
What do you like to do outside of work?
Outside of work, I am a mom! I enjoy spending time with family, friends, and eating good food; mostly vegetarian and dairy-based cuisine. I like visiting the National Parks and undertaking easy to medium hikes. There is something very majestic about the landscapes in this country, which is very humbling.
