Topic of the day: fostering resilient and adaptive leaders
The Advisory Board’s presentation this year will focus on leaders’ resiliency and adaptability. The conventional wisdom that additional training, workshops, and retreats will bolster leaders’ personal resilience is falling short. Individual interventions must be paired with an organizational approach that addresses the environment that leaders operate within. Teresa’s presentation outlines this organizational approach and teaches three strategies to cultivate sustainable leadership behaviors:
- Center leaders’ emotional wellbeing so they have capacity to support their teams
- Protect time away from day-to-day operations to help leaders regain perspective
- Make it safe for leaders to lead through uncertainty
Speaker: Teresa O'Donoghue, BSN, RN, CCM, CPHQ, CPC-A
