Quality Assurance Architect
Position summary
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Architect to champion technical excellence, consistency, and design integrity across all projects. This role serves as a firmwide technical leader, guiding QA processes to ensure architectural documentation meets the highest standards for quality, accuracy, constructability, and code compliance across all phases of design.
The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, thrives in collaborative environments, and is passionate about mentoring teams while advancing firmwide standards and processes. This role is critical to safeguarding the integrity, safety, and performance of our work, reducing risk, strengthening project delivery, and enhancing client satisfaction across the organization.
Treanor offers a hybrid work model, with employees working in the office 3 days a week and allowing the flexibility to work somewhere other than the office 2 days a week.

Treanor is committed to equitable compensation practices. A candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, degree, relevant work experience, skills, and certifications. The anticipated salary range for candidates meeting the stated requirements is $110,000 – 130,000 and will vary by the states we operate in.
Primary responsibilities
Quality Assurance
- Lead and manage comprehensive QA reviews from schematic design through construction contract administration
- Review drawings for coordination, constructability, buildability, waterproofing, and specification alignment
- Ensure consistency and accuracy across architectural, structural, and MEP documentation
Code Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, accessibility standards, regulations, and firmwide standards
- Stay current with evolving building codes, construction technologies, and industry best practices
- Proactively identify risks and partner with teams to resolve issues early
Technical Leadership & Standards
- Develop, maintain, and continuously improve firmwide QA standards, checklists, procedures, and protocols
- Oversee the development and refinement master specifications, standard details, and Revit/BIM standards
- Partner with firm leadership to enhance technical performance and documentation quality
Project Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Principals, consultants, and technical staff to resolve design conflicts early in the design process
- Support teams during RFI and submittal reviews to ensure accuracy and alignment with design intent
- Review milestone drawings across all phases for quality and compliance
Mentorship & Team Development
- Serve as an expert technical resource for across the firm
- Mentor and train staff in documentation standards, construction methods, and technical best practices
Position requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture from an accredited program
Experience
- 10+ years of professional architectural experience
- 2–3+ years focused on quality assurance and quality control
- Experience across multiple project types
Licensure
- Architectural licensure preferred
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in using Bluebeam Studio. Strong working knowledge of Revit and/or AutoCAD is preferred
- Deep understanding of building codes, construction systems, detailing, and BIM workflows
- Familiarity with recognized industry quality management systems and industry standards is a plus
