Student Intern – Summer 2027
Position summary

As an Architectural Student Intern, an individual is responsible for performing basic architectural assignments while receiving specific and detailed instruction and guidance as to tasks required and results expected. Student Interns are expected to work in the office rather than remotely. This is to promote the best structure for the Intern’s learning and growth while providing for beneficial mentorship. Some limited case-by-case exceptions may be made to this requirement, but only by discussion in advance with management.
PLEASE READ: Treanor strongly prefers student intern candidates who will be completing their third year of a five-year Master of Architecture program, or an equivalent program, as well as students completing their third year of an Interior Architecture program. When applying, please indicate your preferred office location and the approximate length of your desired internship, e.g. summer only, summer plus a semester, etc.
A portfolio or work samples are required as part of your application. Applications submitted without work samples will not be considered. Please upload your portfolio in the same section of the application where you are asked to submit your resume.
Primary responsibilities
- Prepare and modify architectural documents, elevations, sections, details, etc. as directed by others
- Provide potential solutions to technical and design problems following established standards.
- Incorporate Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.
- Prepare 2D and 3D presentation/design drawings.
- Build models or prepare project boards for client/project team review.
- Foster commitment to external and internal client service.
- Research technical and code issues.
- Monitor site activity, prepare site visit reports and develop responses to request for information.
- Provide Principal, Project Manager, and Project Architect with regular updates on status, issues, or challenges related to project responsibilities.
- Maintain project records.
Position requirements
- Currently enrolled in an architecture or related degree program
- The willingness to work as a team member and assist others
- High levels of activity and productivity
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to clearly convey information and ideas verbally and graphically
- The ability to quickly grasp new concepts
- Intermediate knowledge in Revit
- Possess basic hand and CAD/BIM drafting skills
- Intermediate knowledge in AutoCAD/Architectural Desktop
- Ability to build physical models
- Proficiency in 3D Modeling software
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup, and InDesign graphic software preferred
- Ability to effectively meet deadlines
