TopekaCarly is an architectural designer with our Historic Preservation team. A Topeka native, Carly has always had a natural curiosity about how things work and a passion for creative problem-solving. This curiosity led her to Kansas State University, where she earned a Master of Architecture and a Minor in Leadership Studies, combining her technical expertise with a commitment to impactful, community-focused design.
Carly is drawn to preservation architecture for its unique ability to enhance community identity and promote sustainability. She believes that every historical building holds stories that deserve to be protected and shared, and she’s excited to be part of projects that foster a sense of continuity and belonging. Carly sees architecture as a powerful tool for shaping mental and environmental well-being, balancing technical challenges with meaningful, human-centered design.

What is on your bucket list?
I want to tour Spain, see the Northern Lights, and go sailing on a tall ship.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I enjoy long days spent on the trails or on water, followed by a dinner out with friends or family. When relaxing at home, I take in storytelling in any form of media, spend time with my pets, or try my hand at a new craft or recipe.
What is the best part of your job?
My favorite aspects of architecture are the unique and creative challenges that we get to face and learn from each day, enriching the lives of clients and their associates within the spaces we develop, and getting the chance to make a more beautiful and healthy world at the end of the day.
