What is on your bucket list?
Spend a few months being nomadic and hiking and biking my way through different parts of the country and world. Be fluent in another language.
What is the best part of your job?
There are so many layers to the job of being an architect. My favorite part of the job is there’s always room to grow and learn. I enjoy the challenge of problem solving. There’s constantly challenges to address with specific projects, but also with how to improve how we approach our work.
What is your advice to young professionals in your field?
You cannot ask too many questions. So much of the profession is learned through experience. Use the experience of the people around you to help you grow.
If you interested in having a different role or taking on a new responsibility, you don’t always have to wait for someone to assign it to you. Sometimes starting to take on the tasks/responsibilities of the role on your own is the best way forward.
