DenverSteve has always been passionate about fine arts and creativity, and architecture became the best way to feed his curiosity. He has dedicated most of his career to healthcare planning and design. As a principal and senior healthcare planner, his responsibilities include master strategic planning, programming, master facility planning, and project management services for diverse inpatient and outpatient health settings.
Like other professionals in our Health studio, Steve believes he serves his clients well by learning as much as possible about the healthcare business and addressing pain points through deliberate observation, questioning current processes, and listening before problem-solving and design begins. He is passionate about helping shape visions for new environments and seeing them become tangible places that provide positive experiences, value, and a sense of belonging to the users and their communities.
His notable projects include the Montrose Regional Health Ambulatory Care Center, the Kansas City Proton Therapy Center, the Medical Center of the Rockies, many Children’s Hospital Colorado project initiatives, and the Clear Creek County Health and Wellness Center. He has delivered care environments with medical teams in Vietnam and Peru and led a pro-bono design team for remote clinics in the Amazon Region of Peru.
Outside of healthcare, Steve has been involved in the design of the Denver Museum of Nature and Science Space Odyssey, where he was the design lead for the children’s exhibits, and “Brite Site,” an elementary school prototype for Clark County, Nevada.
