Convenient access to care

Vancouver, Washington-based PeaceHealth wanted to expand their outpatient general practice, radiology, and therapy services to the Orchards neighborhood to provide a convenient clinic in an underserved area. Together we developed an architectural program to determine the appropriate clinical model for this location. Ultimately, PeaceHealth selected an existing commercial building near the Vancouver Mall for the new clinic space. The right-sized remodel was a cost-effective solution that provided a convenient patient access to comprehensive care in this growing area of the city.

Our care team is excited about the unique design aimed at improving the efficiency of how we deliver care while also improving how patients experience receiving care.

Layout for greater collaboration and efficiency

The clinic follows the on-stage, off-stage model to accommodate efficient self-rooming and a collaborative staff work area. Increased ceiling heights and dynamic lighting make the work areas engaging spaces for clinician teams. Point-of-care testing, digital imaging, and integrated behavioral health services are all provided at the site for patient-centric care. An out-of-flow staff break area and the patient hallways take full advantage of natural daylight.

Studies show that an on-stage, off-stage model can help optimize operational efficiencies, staff workflow, and patient wait times.
