West Richland Police Station

The new 23,000 square foot West Richland Police Station in West Richland, WA, provides a new headquarters for law enforcement and a much-needed expansion of resources for the community. The city expects its population to increase 46% by the year 2035, and with this, leaders identified their police department had grown out of their 45-year-old home. In a design-build partnership with Design West Architects and Chervenell Construction, Treanor designed the new building to accommodate this community’s anticipated growth well into the future. 

Treanor collaborated in a progressive design build team to prepare programming and concept design, evaluate options for and select a site, prepare design drawings, and establish cost estimates in conjunction with our build partner. The resulting design features a public lobby that opens to records and police administration and a community room for public and staff training. The project includes investigations, evidence processing, patrol, and a staff courtyard. Staff locker rooms are right sized for law enforcement and include individual staff lockers. The fitness room is a favorite feature and is easily accessible for law enforcement staff, as well as city staff through a separate secure entrance. 

The building sits on an approximately 5-acre site with access to public parking and secure access for staff parking. The $12,500,000 project budget included evidence equipment, furniture, site, and construction for the new building.
