Treanor Gives Back Through Annual Volunteer Day

When our communities thrive, we also thrive

Every year, we close our offices for a day to give back to our communities across the country. We call this our annual Day of Giving, in which all employees spend the day volunteering for local organizations. Since we began this tradition, we have collectively served more than 7,000 hours of community service to organizations in our office locations. From women’s shelters to local parks and conservatories, groups of staff members serve a variety of organizations every year—and we have a blast doing it.

“We are citizens of a community, both small and large,” says Dan Rowe, president of Treanor. “Our core mission and purpose is to serve others through the built environment. We give one day each year back to the local communities in which we live, and a lifetime of improving the world through sustainable design.”

Applying elbow grease where it’s most needed

Several of these organizations serve hundreds of citizens daily, often providing goods and services otherwise unavailable to individuals and families in need. We also work with organizations dedicated to conserving our natural environment and providing safe access to nature for the community. Whether they provide homes for families, safe spaces for victims of domestic violence, childcare for working parents, or accessible public parks, these organizations have one thing in common: helping others thrive.

“Our Day of Giving stems from our own values,” says Amy Bellerive, director of human resources at Treanor. “Employees select local non-profit organizations that are important to them, and as a group we decide where we can best share our diverse talents. Often, these activities lead to ongoing volunteer relationships between our employees and the organizations.”

We are proud to support our employees’ efforts as citizens of the cities we live in. As architects, we build communities through design, but as neighbors, we build communities through service—and a little bit of elbow grease.

“From the most seasoned principal to our newest student intern, we take this day to give back together,” says Neal Angrisano, principal at Treanor. “We encourage all of our associates to be engaged and give back in significant ways.”

We recognize the importance of the work these organizations do and extend our gratitude to all employees and volunteers that regularly contribute to their mission of building thriving communities. Thank you for all you do.
