BoiseLike many of his colleagues, Brent wanted to be an architect when he was young. Then, he considered being a Disney animator or comic strip artist. He landed back on architecture halfway through college and is now part of our Health studio team.
Throughout his career, Brent has enjoyed interacting with owners and end users to help them navigate the complex process of designing and building a healthcare facility. He skillfully manages complex projects that require him to listen, synthesize, and guide the design process to a successful conclusion. He is a collaborative and inclusive team member.
One of his favorite projects was the North Central Kansas Medical Center in Concordia, Kansas, where he supported the team with code reviews, technical support, and construction administration services. He enjoyed being part of a critical project that the community fully embraced because it brought in a modern healthcare environment and services they hadn’t had before, stimulated the economy, and provided jobs in the area.
Outside the office, Brent enjoys camping, hiking, biking, and playing high-strategy board games with his wife and six children. He also enjoys painting, drawing, audiobooks, and music. One of his favorite activities is coaching the high school and middle school mountain bike teams.

What is the best part of your job?
I enjoy interacting with the owners and users during design and throughout the project. I also enjoy working with our project team to ensure that everyone has a voice during the project and is able to contribute.
What is your favorite quote?
“Life is just like an old time rail journey . . . delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride.” — Gordon B. Hinckley
