TopekaJeff is personally and professionally invested in social reform, and because of this passion, he has dedicated his career solely to justice architecture. He is a principal in the Justice studio. He has more than 20 years of experience working with cities, counties, and states nationwide to create facilities at the intersection of public safety and public health. Jeff firmly believes that research-based therapeutic design not only improves the lives of the individuals who step into well-designed buildings, but it also enhances communities.
Jeff has made long-lasting contributions to designing and programming courthouses, jails, and county facilities throughout his career. With every project and every client, Jeff focuses on using architecture to create spaces that keep our communities healthy and safe. His portfolio includes work for Johnson County courts and jail, Douglas County’s courts, jail, transitional housing, the Saline County Jail, Maricopa Juvenile courts, and projects in Colorado, Oklahoma, Arizona, Washington, and Idaho.
From large metropolitan areas to smaller enclaves, his knack for balancing the needs of a community with therapeutic environments and hardened building types is well-known and well-regarded. For Jeff, every project uses architecture as a tool through which the neighborhood’s character is uplifted and put on full display.
Jeff is a member of the American Institute of Architecture, the American Correctional Association, and the American Jail Association, and he has presented many times at AIA AAJ conferences.
