DallasAndy grew up in China and enjoyed watching his mother, a plumbing engineer, draw architectural plans. During his university studies, he noticed a gap between theory and real-life building construction, which prompted him to pursue both a Master of Architecture degree and a Master of Civil Engineering and Construction Management degree.
Andy works with our Higher Education studio, and his educational background and extensive experience bring a well-rounded perspective that provides multi-faceted project leadership and support on every project he is involved in. His architectural knowledge allows him to envision innovative and functional spaces that meet the diverse needs of higher education campuses. What is the best part of your job?
I like seeing drawings I’ve worked on for many months become an actual building.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I loved building physical models in school, and after graduation I turned that hobby into designing/building custom furniture using wood, metal, and sometimes concrete. I also enjoy house remodeling, designing and 3D printing smaller models, scuba diving, and camping.
