With over two decades of architectural experience, Will is highly skilled in detailed facility planning and programming and works closely with specialty subconsultants to ensure all building systems work together cohesively. Will is a premier designer in the Housing studio and is motivated and inspired by new challenges daily.  He is known for being a trusted partner who walks side-by-side with clients from conception to completion.

Will has been a Construction Specification Institute (CSI) member since 2009 and has served on the Kansas Chapter Board in various capacities, including President and Regional Representative. From his time with CSI, Will developed a strong background in evaluating building systems and materials.

Will is passionate about helping in disaster mitigation and recovery efforts close to home and joined the Kansas Disaster Assessment Program in 2008. He assists with various damage assessments of facilities and structures affected by tornados, flooding, and severe storm events in Kansas. He has served three terms on the National Disaster Assistance Committee, co-authoring the COVID-19 Re-Occupancy Assessment Tool and the AIA Disaster Assistance Handbook. He currently serves with AIA Kansas as a Director-at-large on the Board of Directors as well as the Chair of the Kansas Disaster Assessment Committee, where he is the only trained instructor in the state that is registered with the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services for disaster assessment course training.

What is on your bucket list?

Swim with a great white shark (in a cage of course), serve a church mission with my wife (once the kids are all grown), and visit Australia.

What is your favorite building or landmark?

Nauvoo Temple, Nauvoo, IL. This is where my wife and I were married.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

An Apache helicopter pilot (Army) or a SWCC boat driver (Special Warfare Combatant-craft Crewmen, Navy.) I come from a long line of family military service.
