Delta Gamma Sorority at University of Missouri
Honoring tradition, inspiring the future
The Delta Gamma sorority has been a cornerstone of the University of Missouri campus for over 80 years. In 2017, Treanor completed the design and construction of a new sorority house that continues to honor this legacy, while providing modern amenities and nurturing spaces. The previous location on Providence Street was known for its curved façade and inviting portico. The design team found it important to maintain the environment and create a new house that fosters connections and enhances the member experience.
Central to the design is a grand staircase, a focal point and gathering space that encourages daily interaction. The chapter room accommodates over 300 people, making it ideal for full-chapter meetings, sisterhood events, and social gatherings.
The dining room, located adjacent to the chapter room, provides a space large enough to comfortably accommodate the entire chapter. This intentional adjacency allows the two spaces to work together, supporting both formal gatherings and everyday life. Filled with natural light and designed for flexibility, the dining room serves as a hub for shared meals, studying, and informal meetings.
Designed for comfort and safety
The house includes two living floors and is designed to allow 90 women in 28 sleeping rooms, offering a mix of two-, three-, and four-person bedrooms to provide variety and meet different preferences. Each floor plan was carefully considered to balance privacy and community, creating comfortable living arrangements that feel both personal and inclusive.
Recognizing that safety and well-being are essential parts of feeling at home, the house design incorporates advanced security technology—both internal and external—to help make sure members feel secure.
Carrying the legacy forward
The new Delta Gamma house at the University of Missouri provides a contemporary living space that matches today’s educational landscape and creates a space where each member can feel safe and welcome. The house represents a lasting investment in the chapter’s future with spaces designed to nurture leadership, lifelong friendships, and the organization’s mission to “Do Good.”
The new Delta Gamma home extends the chapter’s legacy, providing a place where future generations of members can continue to build community, celebrate sisterhood, and leave their mark on the University of Missouri campus.
