Delta Gamma Sorority at Mississippi State University
Classic redesign enhances member experience
After years of continued membership growth, the Delta Lambda chapter of Delta Gamma recognized the need to update their existing home at Mississippi State University. The sorority house was starting to show its age and the local house corporation board desired updated spaces and interiors for its growing chapter.
As one of the leading Greek housing architects in the country, Treanor approached the project with deep respect for Delta Gamma’s history and culture. The design team set out to reimagine the house as a more functional, inspiring, and welcoming environment for its members.
Honoring tradition
The Treanor team designed an addition and expansion of the sorority house, which included an exterior update that removed the existing two-story porch, four columns, and pediment, and a redesign with classical Greek architecture proportions. This transformation gave the house a stronger, more balanced presence on campus. The new façade honors traditional Greek architecture while integrating refined materials and details that elevate the chapter’s identity and complement Mississippi State’s historic campus setting.
The dining room was expanded to accommodate more members at mealtimes, and the new expansion introduced more natural sunlight, resulting in an inviting area for members to dine, study, and host chapter events. An updated serving area improves efficiency during meals, while a new outdoor dining porch extends the social and study space into the open air.
Designed for academic and social balance
Treanor’s design placed equal emphasis on supporting the academic and social sides of chapter life. Members were provided with a new study suite, which features four study areas and the latest technology for their academic needs.
A TV lounge provides members with space to relax and recharge, while the new 24/7 snack kitchen ensures that late-night study sessions or early-morning classes are always supported by a quick bite and a sense of home.
The renovation also included a remodeled house director suite and two conference rooms to conduct chapter business. These updates improved the chapter’s ability to host alumnae, plan events, and manage operations—all within a space that feels cohesive, comfortable, and contemporary.
